The beginning of the new Adventurer year snuck up on me! It feels like we just had investiture, but here I am pulling together registration and recruiting materials and consulting seven different calendars to plan out our Adventurer year. If you are stressing about all the beginning of the year paperwork, keep reading. We can work through it together.
I have a video to show you just what I am using this year. Or, for quicker overview, read on.
Club Brochure

Parents keep asking me for some sort of flyer to share with their kids’ friends. Every time they ask, I think, “that’s a good idea. I should make one of those.” And then I go back to whatever thing I’m working on and forget about it until the next time. But, last week, when I heard the request, I thought, “Ooh! That’s way more compelling than school curriculum planning!” (Anyone else remarkably productive when you are avoiding something hard? No? Just me?)
The brochure is one page double-sided and folded in half. The front is written to the potential Adventurer. The inside is FAQs for the parents, including the ever popular question “What is Adventurers?” And the back has room for all the critical information like meeting times and contact info in case they have more questions. You will want to carefully read through it and edit it. Add your church’s information. Change the FAQs to fit your club’s policies and needs.

Bulletin Insert
Does your church still use print bulletins and flyer inserts? These bulletin inserts are ready to tell your church it’s time for Adventurer Registration! I also use these on my bulletin board and to hand out to parents.
Registration Forms

I use a checklist to help parents keep track of where they are in the registration process. In addition to the checklist, the registration packet includes:
- Registration form – 1 per child
- Medical Release form – 1 per child (Check with your conference on this one.)
- Photo Release – 1 per family
- Dues Form – 1 per family
To finish registration, parents must turn in all of the forms, complete their background check, sign up for BAND (our main method of communication), read the club handbook, and help their kids get fitted for uniforms.

Handbook

Our handbook is fairly small. It explains the uniforms, our health policy, what to do when you have to miss a meeting, instructions for the background check, and how to get set up in our BAND group. You’ll want to EDIT it to make it fit your club’s needs!
Notes and Links
Several of these documents have this year’s theme for my conference on them. If that doesn’t fit your needs, you can just delete it while you are editing, or better yet, change it to your conference/club’s theme.
I made everything in Canva. You can use a free account to access these files and edit them to fit your needs. You need to make a copy before you attempt to edit anything. If you aren’t certain how to do that, watch this video. I’ll walk you through the process. The beautiful background and theme graphics were made by Vanesa Franco. The adorable Adventurers are from Traços de Esperança (Traces of Hope).
Are you ready for a new year? What’s your favorite thing about Adventurer registration? Tell me about it in the comments.
(If you need help formatting these Canva projects to A4, let me know. I’d love to help you get ready for your new year.)
Hello this is Esther from Brookings SDA I’m trying to download and edit from Canva and need your permission to edit please
Hi, Esther! You need to make a copy, and then you’ll be able to edit your version. If you aren’t sure how to do that, look at the “Notes and Links” section near the bottom. There is a video linked there (click on the word “video.”). I’ll walk you through the process of making a copy in Canva. Let me know if you need more help.
