God created an amazing world for us, and it’s always a good time to remind our Adventurers, and ourselves, of this fact. The purpose of the God’s World award is to learn and review the story of Creation.

Story: The Beginning (The Beginner’s Bible)
To introduce the story of creation to our Eager Beavers, we read The Beginning from the The Beginner’s Bible. I struggle to find stories of creation – especially ones that separate all the days of creation into the seven days. Fortunately, the Beginner’s Bible does a great job telling the story of Creation. The picture to text ratio is appropriate for Eager Beavers.
Memory Verse: Genesis 1:1
Fulfills Requirement # 1
Repeat this simple verse a few times at the beginning and the ending of your meeting, and your kids will have not only memorized the first verse in the Bible, they will also know who created Earth.
Craft: World Collage
Fulfills Requirement # 6

The world collage craft is from the Eager Beavers Leader’s Guide. You will need paper with a large circle, blue and green construction paper, and glue sticks. I created several printables to go along with it. Our Eager Beavers were given the option of a simple circle to fill in with small ripped pieces of construction paper or a circle with the continents. I was curious to see which style Eager Beavers prefer. The answer is both! Half chose each style.
Each child was given a quarter of a sheet each of green and blue paper (8.5 x 11) which seemed to be about the right amount, but I’d recommend having a little extra on hand just in case. We did not hand out scissors for this craft – tearing paper is a great fine motor skill workout for this age! I think it’s easiest to add the glue to the main paper and stick the tiny bits of paper to the glue instead of attempting to add glue to the little bits of paper.
I’ve included a variety of printable options in the printable pack. There is a black and white option to print on blue paper and a blue version – in case you don’t have light blue paper laying around. There are also two different continent options – choose the one that matches your side of the planet. Our beavers got really into this craft – it’s fairly time-intensive.
Skills: Where in the World are We?

Fulfills Requirement # 4
Find yourself on a globe. If you don’t have a globe, you could use a world map. Marvel at how tiny your town is and how big the world that God created is.
Song: God Made the Whole World

Fulfills Requirements # 2 & 3
The Song God Made the Whole World is from the Eager Beaver Leader’s Guide. The lyrics are in the printable pack at the end of this post .(Copyright 2011 North American Division Corporation of Seventh-day Adventists. Used with permission.) Adding actions to this song fulfills requirement #3! I followed the ideas in guide to create props to go along with the song. (Also in the printable pack.) Just in case you’d like to see how the song comes together, I created a video for you.
Closing Discussion
Fulfills Requirement # 5
Ask the kids (or have your lovable beaver puppet ask) “What are five of your favorite things that God created for you?”
Story: God Made Them All

God Made Them All by Melody Carlson is a favorite book of mine all about the animals God created. Unfortunately, it is a harder-to-find book. Any book about God’s creation would be appropriate. Or skip this one – it isn’t essential. If you need to fill some time, take a walk outside and look for things God created.
